Main Rahu Yaa Naa Rahu…

Theater Hamesha Zinda Rahega…

These were the words of the legendary theatre artist Mr. Rizwaan Zaheer Usmaan while he was speaking on the occasion of World Theatre Day at Sukhadiya Rangmanch yesterday. It was the day when few hands came out in front, to contribute their bit for the treatment of Mr. Usmaan who is suffering from a kidney disease and is on dialysis from a long time. Karmashram, Nadbrahma, The Managers and Ashraya organized a show, titled ‘The Dialysis’ in which a play ‘Court Martial’ was played. The show gave a strong message against the casteism which has been a hindrance in India since years.

It was a beautiful play written by Swadesh Deepak and Directed by Shivraj Sonwal which revolved around an Army Jawan Ramchander (Kuldeep Dhabai) who was accused of killing a senior officer and injuring other. It depicts the true story of casteism in India. Ramchander was treated very badly by his Commanding Officer, Captain Kapoor (Shibli Khan) and in a state of harassment Ramchander opened fire against him. The Judge of the court, Captain Surat Singh (Anil Dadhich) is in a state of complete confusion as what do in this situation, whether to listen to his heart or to listen to his mind.

The play takes you through the conservative mind set of many people in our country who are still supporting caste discrimination.

It was a jam packed show despite of a ‘Paid Theater Show’ after many years where people of Udaipur equally supported the artists with their love and donation.

The show would have not been possible without the efforts of the following artists:
