Here we have the one from Udaipur……….Young girl “Bhakti Sharma” who achieved what seems to be impossible and that too at the age of just 14 years. Isn’t it amazing !!!

Bhakti Sharma is first swimmer of Rajasthan to introduce the long distance sea swimming. Bhakti sharma is a young girl who crossed ENGLISH CHANNEL in her age of playing. At the small age of 14 she did this incredible job. When children wants to play she decided to swim across sea. Her mother is a swimmer too. Bhakti swam 36 k.m. in English Channel at very low temperature of water. She has won many awards in swimming. She has also crossed 36 k.m. from Dharamtal to Gate way of India in Mumbai.

At the age, when we just dream to make our parents proud of us. You did this incredible job which itself tells us about your charismatic personality and determination level.

Lets take a glimpse on few of her great achievements.

1. Accomplished fantastic feat of crossing the ENGLISH CHANNEL from Shakespeare Beach, Dover England to Callisport,France. On Wed. 05.07.2006,from 11:00 AM to 12:55 AM (IST) (i.e. from 06:30AM to 08:15PM. British GMT)  A distance of 36 kMs,in ear 13 hours and 55 minutes. Last three hours, she faced, like a bad dream  , an awful turbulent Sea having high tidal waves and as at first temperature of the water was 14 degrees Celsius facilitating her, but dropped, at the last leg of the swim, to 13 degree Celsius due to the cold under-currents! On account of which she lost good 3 hours very badly in the bargain!

2. On 6 August 2006 ,she participated in the 19. Int. Self- Transcendence Marathon – Schwimmen Rapperswil – Zurich, a distance of 26.4 Km organized Under the Aegis of Sri Chinmoy Marathon Race International Academy, in age group of 16-40 years without Wet Suit. This International Marathon Event had participants from UK, USA Hungary, New Zealand, Switzerland, Africa, India, Holland, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Estonia, Sweden, Netherlands & Uganda. She stood 1st and has become the Youngest among all participants to achieve this outstanding success in the time period of 10 Hrs.41 Mins. and 42secs.

3. In the month of  May, 2007. She crossed the Gulf of  Mexico (25 kms); Pacific Ocean (6 ½) and Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico in one day (21 kms) at U.S.A. and stood first in the competition at key West 21 kms. race in Atlantic Ocean and was first Asian Swimmer to participate in the above events. On the 30th Sept., 2007 crossed Mediterranean Sea 19 kms. at Tarifa, Spain in 5hrs. and 13 minutes. This way she have succeeded in crossing 6 sea of the world and now on my way to cross the seventh sea in near future.

4. At Uran Port (Mumbai), she finished 16 kms. in 4 hours making a record as the First Rajasthan Swimmer ever to do so.

5. From Dharamtal to Gateway of India she ad-measured by swimming 36 kms. in just 9 hours and 30 minutes.

6. In the B.N. Swimming Pool, Udaipur, she swam Non-Stop for 12 hrs. covering a distance of 32 kms.

7. In the Lake-City of Udaipur, crossed Fatehsagar 7 times Non-Stop covering a distance of 35 kms. in just 8hrs and 30 minutes.
